Album previews

dg_logoNicely angular work from drummer Tony Arco – a trio set that swings along with some really dynamic energy! Tony’s got a way of leading a trio that puts his drums on an even par with the piano – played wonderfully in this case by Roberto Tarenzi, a player who almost has as much rhythmic pulse as Arco has melodic groove – working strongly together in a trio that also features bassist James Cammack. Old standards are opened up, pulled apart, and refitted as new rhythmic vehicles for jazz – and a few funky numbers slide into the mix with sounds that further freshen up the album. Titles include “Cissy Strut”, “Skylark”, “Resolution”, “One Finger Snap”, “Lullaby For The Loved One”, and “Never Let Me Go”. © 1996-2015, Dusty Groove, Inc.
