ALBCD 017 – It Won’t Be Late – Rossano Baldini

¥2,057

Saturated aesthetics and “ennui”, a deep silence, memory of impressionism in the past century, minimalism, modal Jazz, lost elegy, dim scenery in the gray dawn, and hope for the future.
“It Won’t Be Late” is a deep poetic musical journey led by young but artistically matured Roman pianist Rossano Baldini who is currently regular member of the prestigious “Orchestra Italiana del Cinema”. Close your eyes and the music flows as if performed in chamber orchestra, then we recognize there’s only a man and his piano on the stage.

“I found out a pure, bright and poetic piano record: it is “It Won’t Be Late” by an italian pianist, Rossano Baldini. Since his childhood, Baldini was fond of classical music, jazz, blues and musical composition. Later, he graduated in piano at the “S. Cecilia” Conservatory of Music in Rome; then, before moving to the United States, he graduated from DAMS (Disciplines of Arts, Music and Performing Arts) from “Roma Tre” University of Rome, with a concluding essay on Beethoven’s variations in the Piano Sonata Op. 111. Currently, he has several collaborations not only in the jazz arena, but also with rock and soundtracks artist. The sound of Baldini’s piano is influenced by all these different and profound experiences, as well as its precise compositional skills. His music, always jazz oriented, takes the listener to an intimate world that reminds us of the last Beethoven and Brahms years. In solitude, but with hope. A record that we would like to hear when we are calm and alone.” - Serai (Sep/Oct 2012), by Naoki Hayashida.
